The youth centre for 11 to 25-year-olds on Tritton Road opened this week and houses the county’s largest climbing centre.
The building took three years to renovate from a Dixon Motors car showroom and cost a whopping £5 million to complete.
A wide choice of facilities at the centre will have visitors spoilt for choice including a restaurant, an urban football cage and an arcade zone – including bowling and video games.
A conference and event centre at The Showroom will be used to keep the venue self-sustaining and a hair and beauty salon, operated by Lincoln College, will provide a place for training and work experience for its students.
As an ambassador for the MyPlace programme of the Big Lottery Fund, which funded the project, five-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave will attend the event to give a talk and to discuss the project with the Lincolnshire YMCA and partner organisations.
