A New Bar For Lincoln

Filed under: News — admin @ 10:01 am

Sports fans listen up! The Holiday Inn has opened The Sports Bar on the Brayford in Lincoln – another exciting new development for the city.

The sports-themed bar has five TV screens which will show all of the major sporting events taking place throughout 2012. There are even two TV screens on the beer pumps which is a unique feature of The Sports Bar!

A new menu has also been introduced to complement the sports theme with Warm-up starters, Main Event dishes including rack of ribs and chilli beef nachos, On the Bench side orders and Extra Time desserts.

The transformation of the bar and the introduction of Starbucks have been part of a £1.2 million refurb at the Holiday Inn Lincoln over the last 12 months. The project has created eight new jobs in Starbucks and four new positions within The Sports Bar while some existing employees have also been promoted.

Helen Barker, Area Sales Manager for the Holiday Inn, commented: “We wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to change something dated and traditional into a modern, contemporary space that is something different for Lincoln.

“The new sports bar is completely separate from the hotel and has its own identity. There aren’t any other dedicated sports bars in the city and it is another venue for Lincoln that offers something different.

“We have only been open for two weeks but we have been so busy with Euro 2012, the Olympic Torch visiting the city and the Waddington Air Show – there has been such a great atmosphere and a real mix of people coming in to see what we are all about.”

Food is served from Monday to Thursday between 6pm and 11pm and from Friday to Sunday between 12 noon and 11pm.

With the bar’s transformation nearly complete, the only finishing touches left are the signage outside, transfers on the windows and sporting artwork on display inside the bar.

A variety of themed nights are in the pipeline so keep an eye on LoveLincoln.co.uk for more information. You can also keep up to date with The Sports Bar on Twitter @sportsbar_lincs
