Summer Full of Fun!

The summer holidays can fill you with dread worrying about how to keep your children occupied without spending a fortune.  Luckily, Hartsholme Country Park  has a whole host of events taking place this summer which will prevent you hearing the words ‘I’m bored’.

The main event is the annual Family Fun Day, organised by the City of Lincoln Council and community members, which takes place on 12th August from 11am to 4pm.

All the family can get involved with a variety of different activities available at the free event.

Ruth Simons, Senior Conservation Ranger at Hartsholme Country Park, said: “This school summer holidays we have loads of fantastic events taking place to keep the children entertained.

“The Family Fun Day is an excellent way to spend the day with your relatives and get stuck in with the fun-filled activities that are on offer.”

Other events taking place at Hartsholme Country Park, which was recently awarded a Green Flag award for the fifth time in a row, include Bottle Rockets from 1pm to 3pm on 7th August, It’s a Bugs Life from 1pm to 3pm on 21st August and a Treasure Hunt which will run from 24th August to 27th August every day from 12pm to 3pm.

Children can join Park Rangers to get up close and personal with some seriously creepy creatures at It’s a Bug’s Life, or discover the joys of flight at Bottle Rockets where they can make their own flying rockets.

The treasure hunt gives children a chance to explore Hartsholme Country Park by taking part in a wild treasure trail where they can solve puzzles and complete challenges to find their very own treasure chest.

It’s a Bug’s Life and Bottle Rockets cost £3.30 per child and the Treasure Hunt £2 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all the events and booking is essential.

Toilet and refreshment facilities are available at the park and there is plenty of on site parking.
